The writing is funny, witty and filled with so much truth. I find myself in so many of the thoughts. Keep writing Jen, it's got to feel good to release the thoughts, read the reality and confront the absurdity of it all.
Oooh, I have so many things to say. 1. You will always be a truffula tree, and even if parenthood turned you into a thneed (a big maybe), a thneed, as we all know, is something everyone needs. 2. I am so excited that you are making progress on the book and I. CANNOT. WAIT. 3. There is so much here that I love, including that your engagement-era visit to the Olive Garden, the happy hour at Staybridge Suites, the best emergency you've ever had (and oh man, those firefighters who knew every turn in your house in those early days). Really, all of it—the bittersweetness of kids hurtling into adulthood, the sweetness of your youngest, the sharply observed details. Oh, and super grateful for the shout-out at the end. THANK YOU. Also, go finish your book (but no pressure!)
I somehow never saw this back in May, so it made my day today, in July ;) Let’s both finish those books and hit a Staybride Suites happy hour to celebrate together! (And then go on matching book tours and finally get those imaginary NYC apartments for real!)
Loves this! It will be so nice for you to have a tall young man carrying your purchases…for me too! ❤️
we shall walk together with our incredible sons❤️
Great read. I love your writing style. Especially your Epiphany of the Obvious. Laughed out loud.
Thank you, Lara! Always love to hear of laughing out loud :)

Belated thanks for this comment, Laurie! You’re right - it does feel good and there is so much absurdity!

Hooray for deferred day-making, a celebratory happy hour at Staybridge Suites, finishing those #$&*! books, and imaginary (but real) NYC apartments!
“Snapshot of everyday beauty and chaos” — I’m gonna hold onto that, Ahmet! Thank you!
